Clear TickTick Cache on Mac

To clear the TickTick cache, quit the app first, then move its folder in your Library's Application Support area to the Trash, or use a cache option inside the app if it has one. Your tasks stay in your TickTick account, so the cache can be rebuilt without losing them.

TickTick cache folders you can clear

TickTick has no separate cache folder. Its folders hold settings and your own data, so there is nothing to clear safely by hand.

What the TickTick cache holds and when clearing helps

Specific to TickTick

The TickTick folder on your Mac holds a local cache of your account's tasks and attachments, which lets the app load quickly. It is not where your tasks live, because they are stored in your TickTick account. Clearing the cache makes most sense when the app feels sluggish, shows outdated tasks, or fails to load attachments, and you want it to fetch everything fresh. Its data is typically 100 MB – 1 GB, so clearing it can free a noticeable amount of space.

What happens after you clear the TickTick cache

The first time you open the app afterward, it may take longer to start while the cache is rebuilt from your account. You may be asked to sign in again, since the cache is rebuilt after signing in. Your tasks, attachments and any TickTick Premium subscription stay with your account, and clearing the cache does not cancel the subscription. Items in the Trash can be restored until you empty it, so keep the folder there for a few days if you are unsure.
