How to Completely Uninstall Figma on Mac

To uninstall Figma, drag the application icon from your Applications folder to the Trash. Because it is an Electron wrapper around a cloud editor, simply deleting the app leaves behind several support folders and a background process.

What Figma leaves behind

Specific to Figma

Moving the app to the Trash does not remove its settings, app data, or the local font helper. A launch agent remains active to start the font helper at login, and various folders containing preferences and cached data persist. These remaining files typically occupy 500 MB – 10 GB.

Background items
The desktop app installs a font helper (FigmaAgent) with a launch agent so designs can use local fonts; it keeps running until removed.
Account and sync
All Figma files live in your Figma account; the desktop app does not store designs locally.

Preparing to remove Figma

Ensure all offline edits have synced to your account since designs are stored in the cloud rather than locally. You should manually save any critical work as local copies via the menu. Finally, quit the app and remove the launch agent located at ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.figma.agent.plist to stop the background helper.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Folders marked “Yes, rebuilt automatically” are rebuilt automatically; removing them only makes the next start slower. Folders marked “Yes, settings reset” hold settings, which return to their defaults. Items marked “Yes, once the app is gone” only matter while Figma is installed, so remove them after the app.
Will my design files be deleted if I remove the app?
No, because your designs live in your account in the cloud, not on your Mac.
Why is the app still running processes after I move it to the Trash?
The font helper continues to run until you remove its associated launch agent.
