The cache folder holds workflow cache and temporary data, and it is rebuilt automatically when the app needs it. Your workflows, snippets, custom web searches and themes are kept in the preferences bundle, while clipboard and snippet databases sit in their own folder, so the cache is not where your own work lives. Clearing helps most when the clipboard history keeps images and files for a long time, or when workflow data folders keep growing. The app's data typically takes 200 MB – 5 GB, and clipboard history is usually the largest part.
What happens after you clear the Alfred cache
Clearing the cache does not remove workflows, snippets, themes or settings. The app rebuilds the cache the next time it runs, so the first launch and first searches may feel slower while that happens. If you used Clear Now, older copied images and files are gone, and new copies start a fresh clipboard history. Nothing else changes, so you can keep using the app as before.
