Box cache folders you can clear
Box has no separate cache folder. Its folders hold settings and your own data, so there is nothing to clear safely by hand.
What the Box cache holds and when clearing it helps
Specific to Box
The cache holds copies of files that were streamed to your Mac so they open quickly, and it lives in Application Support. The same folder also holds the database and logs, so only the cache part should be cleared. Clearing helps when that folder reaches several gigabytes or when files stop opening or syncing. Your files appear in Finder through ~/Library/CloudStorage, and that folder holds your own data, so leave it alone.
What happens after you clear the Box cache
The cache is rebuilt as you open files again, so the first start afterwards and the first opening of each file may take longer. Files you open are fetched again from your account, and nothing stored there changes. If the app asks you to sign in again, sign in with your usual account details. Items you move to the Trash can be restored until the Trash is emptied, so wait a few days before emptying it.
