Clear LibreOffice Cache on Mac
Clearing the cache resets LibreOffice to its default settings, which resolves startup crashes and broken toolbars. This process does not delete your saved documents, as they reside separately from the application profile.
Clear the LibreOffice cache without guessing
LibreOffice data usually takes 100 MB – 2 GB on a Mac. The free scan shows the exact size on your Mac before you change anything.

LibreOffice cache folders you can clear
LibreOffice has no separate cache folder. Its folders hold settings and your own data, so there is nothing to clear safely by hand.
What the LibreOffice cache holds
Specific to LibreOffice
The app stores all preferences, extensions, and recovery data in a single user profile folder. When this profile becomes corrupted, settings may fail to save or the program may crash upon launch. Clearing it removes these configuration files but preserves your actual work. Your documents remain saved wherever you originally stored them.
What happens after you clear LibreOffice
The next time you open the app, it rebuilds the profile with factory defaults. You will lose custom toolbars, autocorrect entries, and installed extensions. The first launch may take slightly longer as the new profile initializes. Since LibreOffice requires no account, you do not need to sign in again.
