Because the app presents your storage as a virtual drive, the local data is mainly copies of recently used files. Two places hold it: the pCloud folder inside Application Support, which contains app data, cache and logs, and the hidden ~/.pcloud folder, which holds the local cache and database. Clearing helps when the cache grows large, which for this app is commonly 500 MB – 10 GB, or when the drive becomes slow.
What happens after you clear the pCloud cache
The hidden cache folder rebuilds automatically, so the first launch afterwards takes longer. Files you have not used recently stay in your cloud account and reappear on the virtual drive as before. Your plan is tied to your pCloud account and is not cancelled by clearing the cache. If the app asks you to sign in, use the account you normally use.
