Clear Zoom Cache on Mac

To clear the Zoom cache, quit the app, then move its cache and log folders in your Library folder to the Trash. The app rebuilds both on its own, and your meetings, contacts and cloud recordings are not affected.

Zoom cache folders you can clear

These folders are rebuilt automatically, so removing them does not touch your own files.

What the Zoom cache holds and when clearing helps

Specific to Zoom

The cache folder, ~/Library/Caches/us.zoom.xos, holds temporary files, and the logs folder holds diagnostic records; both are rebuilt automatically. The app's total data on a Mac usually falls in the 500 MB – 10 GB range, but its largest part is often local recordings in your Documents folder, which are your own files and should stay. Clearing the cache helps when the app is slow to start or when its Caches and Logs folders have grown large. If neither sign applies, the cache is unlikely to be the cause.

What happens after you clear the Zoom cache

The cache and logs are recreated the next time the app opens, so the first start may be slower while it rebuilds them. Your meetings, contacts and cloud recordings stay with your account, and local recordings in your Documents folder are untouched. The stored network cookies and web view data are not part of this clearing, so they stay as they are. If the app asks you to sign in again, your account data has not been lost.
