How to Completely Uninstall Dashlane on Mac

To uninstall Dashlane, quit the app and drag it to the Trash. Since the developer retired the macOS desktop app in favor of a browser extension and web app, you may still find legacy files on your system.

Files remaining after removing Dashlane

Specific to Dashlane

Dragging the app to the Trash does not remove associated folders, which typically occupy 100 MB – 1 GB. These leftovers often consist of settings or app data from the retired desktop version. For example, data remains in ~/Library/Application Support/Dashlane until deleted manually via the Go to Folder menu. Items in the Trash can be restored until you empty it.

Current status
Dashlane retired its macOS desktop app; Dashlane now works on a Mac through its browser extension and web app.
Account and sync
Your passwords are stored in your Dashlane account and remain available in the browser extension and mobile apps.

Preparing to uninstall Dashlane

Ensure your security credentials are secure before removing the local software. Because your passwords are stored in your account, they remain available in the mobile app and browser extension. You should verify access to your vault and confirm your recovery options first. Removing the application alone does not affect your cloud-synced data.
