How to Completely Uninstall Filmora on Mac

To uninstall Filmora completely, you must remove both the application and its associated data folders manually. Dragging the icon to the Trash alone does not delete user documents or system storage.

What Filmora leaves behind

Specific to Filmora

Moving the app to the Trash preserves settings, caches, and project autosaves in a separate directory. These files occupy between 1 GB – 30 GB of space and remain on your Mac until deleted separately. Because this folder mixes cached resources with actual work, simply emptying the Trash will not reclaim this storage.

Preparing to remove Filmora

Quit the app before attempting to remove any files. Since paid plans and effect stores are linked to a Wondershare ID, you should sign out within the software first. Ensure all necessary project files are moved from the internal data folder to your preferred location.

Frequently asked questions

Not all of them. Folders marked “Back up first: your data” hold your own Filmora data: back them up before removing them.
Where are my autosaved projects located?
They are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Wondershare/Filmora along with settings and cache.
Will I lose my paid plan license if I uninstall?
No, because your license is linked to your Wondershare ID rather than the local files.
