What LINE leaves behind

Specific to LINE

Because the app is sandboxed, your chat data, stickers, and images are stored in a specific Containers folder rather than within the app bundle. Dragging the app to the Trash does not remove these files, which typically occupy 300 MB – 3 GB. These items remain on your disk until you manually navigate to the hidden Library via Finder and delete them.

Account and sync
LINE is tied to your account on the phone; chat history on the Mac is not fully restored after reinstalling.

Preparing to remove LINE

Since the app is tied to your mobile account, chat history on the Mac is not fully restored if you reinstall later. You should secure any necessary media before deletion. Ensure you have confirmed your login credentials while still signed in to avoid lockout.
