Affinity Photo cache folders you can clear
Affinity Photo has no separate cache folder. Its folders hold settings and your own data, so there is nothing to clear safely by hand.
What the Affinity Photo cache holds
Specific to Affinity Photo
The cache is a temporary store inside the app's data folder, which also holds your settings, resources and autosaves. Clearing it helps when the app becomes sluggish or unstable with large files, or when that folder has grown into the 500 MB – 10 GB range. Affinity Photo 2 is no longer sold, and in 2025 Canva replaced the separate Affinity apps with one free Affinity app that opens existing documents.
What happens after you clear the Affinity Photo cache
The next launch takes longer while Affinity Photo rebuilds its cache, and then normal speed returns. Your documents stay wherever you saved them, and your settings and autosaves stay in the data folder. Sign-in does not change: the Mac App Store version stays tied to your Apple Account, and the direct version stays tied to your Affinity (Serif) account. If you moved anything to the Trash by mistake, it can be restored until the Trash is emptied.
