Sequel Ace keeps its sandboxed data in a container folder on your Mac, and that folder also holds your settings and connection favorites. The cache is temporary material the app builds up while you work, so it can be rebuilt without affecting your setup. Clearing it helps when the app feels sluggish, when information looks out of date, or when its data has grown toward the typical range of 100 MB – 1 GB. Your databases stay on the servers rather than on your Mac, so clearing the cache does not touch them.
What happens after clearing the Sequel Ace cache
The next time you open the app, it rebuilds the cache as you browse, so the first start and first connections will feel slower than usual. Your connection favorites and settings remain, so your saved connections should still be listed. If a server asks for your login, enter it as you normally would. Once the cache has filled again, speed returns to normal, and you can clear it again later if it grows back.
