Clear Warp Cache on Mac

You can clear the Warp cache without losing your history, settings or custom files. Check first whether the app offers a cache-clearing option of its own, and only then remove the log file, which is rebuilt automatically.

Warp cache folders you can clear

These folders are rebuilt automatically, so removing them does not touch your own files.

Locations are the standard macOS folders Warp uses; some appear only after you use the matching feature.

What the Warp cache holds and when clearing it helps

Specific to Warp

Most of what the app stores is data you should keep. Command history, blocks and local session data sit in a support folder named after the app's bundle identifier, while hand-made themes, workflows and launch configurations are plain files in a separate settings folder. The one cache-type item that is safe to clear is the log file in the hidden Library folder, which the app rebuilds automatically. Clearing it helps when the app misbehaves or when you want some of the space it uses back, which typically falls between 200 MB – 2 GB in total.

What happens after you clear the Warp cache

The app recreates the log file the next time it starts, so nothing needs restoring by hand. The first launch afterwards may take a little longer while files are rebuilt. Your command history, blocks, settings, themes and workflows stay exactly where they were. Warp Drive items and team content are tied to your Warp account, so sign in with that account if the app asks you to.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Folders marked “Yes, rebuilt automatically” are rebuilt automatically; removing them only makes the next start slower.
Will my custom themes and workflows be deleted?
No. They are plain files kept separately from the log, and clearing the cache does not touch them.
Do I need to uninstall the app to clear the cache?
No. Quitting the app and moving the log file to the Trash is enough, and removing the app would not delete your data folders anyway.
