What happens when you remove DBeaver

Specific to DBeaver

Dragging the app to the Trash does not delete your workspace or connection settings. It stores 500 MB – 5 GB of data in a separate directory containing your scripts and JDBC drivers. These files remain on your Mac until you manually navigate to the hidden Library folder via Finder > Go > Go to Folder.

License
DBeaver Community is free; DBeaver PRO editions are paid subscriptions.

Preparing for DBeaver removal

Because the app places its entire workspace outside of Application Support, deleting the data folder removes your written SQL scripts. You should identify which projects you wish to keep before purging these directories. Downloaded drivers can be rebuilt automatically if needed later.

Frequently asked questions

Not all of them. Folders marked “Back up first: your data” hold your own DBeaver data: back them up before removing them. Folders marked “Yes, rebuilt automatically” are rebuilt automatically; removing them only makes the next start slower.
Will emptying the Trash delete my saved SQL scripts?
No, because scripts are stored in the Library folder rather than the app bundle.
Why is the remaining data folder so large?
The size often increases due to numerous downloaded JDBC drivers.
