Specific to GitKraken

Dragging the app to the Trash does not remove its support folders or your personal documents. It splits data between an Electron folder in Application Support for caches and a dotfolder in the home directory for profiles. These remain on your disk until manually deleted via Finder > Go > Go to Folder.

License
GitKraken is free for public repositories; private repositories and team features need a paid plan.
Account and sync
GitKraken uses a GitKraken account; paid features depend on that account plan.

Preparing GitKraken for removal

Before deleting the application, ensure all necessary work is synced. Your repositories stay in their own folders regardless of the uninstallation process. Since paid features depend on your account plan, manage your active sessions and third-party connections within the interface first.

Frequently asked questions

Not all of them. Folders marked “Back up first: your data” hold your own GitKraken data: back them up before removing them. Folders marked “Yes, rebuilt automatically” are rebuilt automatically; removing them only makes the next start slower. Items marked “Yes, once the app is gone” only matter while GitKraken is installed, so remove them after the app.
Where are my profiles and account settings stored?
These are kept in the ~/.gitkraken folder located in your home directory.
Will emptying the Trash remove my repository files?
No, because repositories are stored in their own separate folders outside of the app's system directories.
