What Studio One leaves behind

Specific to Studio One

Dragging the app icon to the Trash only removes the executable file. Your settings, app data, and license information remain in the Library folder. Additionally, your songs and projects stay in your Documents folder. These directories persist because the system treats your creative work and configurations separately from the application.

Account and sync
Studio One is activated with your PreSonus account.

Preparing to uninstall Studio One

Before removal, ensure you have handled your personal content. Since the app separates song files from downloaded sound sets, check both locations. Sound sets are often the largest components and may be stored in a custom location you chose during setup. You must manually manage these files to fully clear the space they occupy.

Frequently asked questions

Not all of them. Folders marked “Back up first: your data” hold your own Studio One data: back them up before removing them. Items marked “Yes, once the app is gone” only matter while Studio One is installed, so remove them after the app.
Where are my songs kept if I delete the app?
They remain in ~/Documents/Studio One since removing the app does not delete your documents.
How do I access the hidden library to remove settings?
Use Finder > Go > Go to Folder to reach the hidden ~/Library directory.
