What Fantastical leaves behind

Specific to Fantastical

Dragging the app to the Trash preserves sandboxed data, settings, and cached events across several Library folders. It also leaves behind a menu bar helper that continues to run in the background and start at login. These remaining files typically occupy 100 MB – 1 GB of space. Because the app acts as a front end, these containers store local caches and preferences rather than your actual calendar accounts.

Background items
Fantastical runs a menu bar helper that keeps working in the background and starts at login.
License
Fantastical Premium is a subscription linked to your Flexibits account or Apple Account and is not cancelled by deleting the app.
Account and sync
Fantastical shows events from your calendar accounts (iCloud, Google, Exchange); events stay in those accounts. Settings sync through a Flexibits account.

Preparing to remove Fantastical

Before deletion, ensure all events are synced to your server accounts since the app only mirrors that data. If using a shared computer, sign out of your Flexibits account to protect your settings. You must fully quit the main program and its helper process before attempting to delete any files. To access the hidden system folders manually, use Finder > Go > Go to Folder.
